  • Out of 24 Hour Comics Day comes a second anthology: 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2004! This features 24 interesting stories chosen from the hundreds created on 24 Hour Comics Day, an extremely thick collection of energetic, improvisational comics.

    After a careful effort reading through hundreds of the comics stories created on 24 Hour Comics Day, editor Nat Gertler has selected 24 tales to go into the book 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2004. These stories were selected not just for their quality but also for the breadth of styles and participants involved in the event.
    The better known creator whose works are included are:

    • Christian Gossett of The Red Star fame does 24 pages on the creative effort
    • Leave It To Chance's Paul Smith spent the day creating a one-man anthology of stories, one of which will be in the book.

    24 Hour Comics Day Highlights 2004 (ISBN 0-9753958-0-7) is a 496 page 5.5"x7.75" paperback published by About Comics. It reached comic book stores in July, and is scheduled to reach mainstream bookstores in September. Suggested retail price is $24.95. The print run is under 2000 copies, so get one while you can!

    Finding 24 Hour Comics books: Your best bet is to go to one of the comic book stores that hosted 24 Hour Comics Day events, as they're most likely to have them in stock. If you don't have one nearby, try the Comic Shop Locator Service. While many stores won't have them in stock, a good comic shop should be able to order any of these books for you.

    You can also obtain these books through online retailers such as Amazon.com - but if you can, support your local comic book store instead. Comic books have thrived creatively largely due to the existence of specialty stores.
