Sponsors wanted

There's one large sponsor we're looking for to really help this year's event, and that's someone to underwrite the editing and printing of the 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights book. Each year we've published a thick book with about 24 stories taken from 24 Hour Comics Day, and the shot at being included in the book inspires many of the artists. The most recent volume is a 2006 Eisner Award nominee. Complete sponsorship costs will be in the thousands of dollars, but we will be very cooperative in helping you make this sponsorship worthwhile.

Beyond that: Do you have a product or service that could be of use to the folks at the 24 Hour Comics Day event sites or the organizers are 24 Hour Comics Day Central? Examples of what we're looking for include:

  • Snack food: as a 24 hour event, a lot of snacking tends to take place
  • Soft drinks
  • Energy drinks
  • Meals: this would be a good sponsorship for regional or larger restaurant chains. (Individual restaurants that want to provide meals should email us, and we'll try to hook you up with an individual event site; you won't be part of the national publicity, but the local event host may be able to offer their own promotional possibilities.)
  • Art supplies and tools
  • Transportation services: helping get sleepy cartoonists back home
  • Photocopy services: this would help stores submit copies of the resulting stories for the official records. Some stores might also want to offer copies of the locally-produced comics for sale.
  • Printing services to get a new 24 Hour Comics Day Highlights book to market.

We are open to other types of products and services that would help make the events comfortable, entertaining, or successful.

Benefits for sponsors

First off, you will be exposing your product not only to the cartoonists participating at the event sites and to the hosts, but also to those visiting the event sites. Most events are held at comic book stores, and the 24 hour nature of the event means that at least part of the event will be during open stores hours (and many stores choose to remain open for 24 hours during the event.) And while we cannot guarantee press coverage, we will note that some of 2004's 24 Hour Comics Day events were covered with TV, print, and even movie documentary coverage, so there is a chance for some product visibility. Your product will be associated with an energetic and creative event.

Sponsors offering support to a substantial portion of the event sites will receive mention in press releases issues by 24 Hour Comics Central, and will have their logo and a web link put on the 24HourComics.com website.
